The IC660BPM100 is a PowerTrac Block Module, primarily serving as a power monitoring device integrated with Genius I/O functionality. It can be directly connected to Series 90-3, Series 90-70, PACSystem RX3i, and other devices that support the Genius Bus Protocol. Originally manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, this module is now under the umbrella of Emerson Automation.
Designed to measure voltage, current, and their associated parameters, the IC660BPM100 specifically calculates RMS voltage (phase-to-phase for wye/delta configurations and phase-to-neutral for wye systems), RMS current (per phase and neutral), active current, per-phase active/reactive power, system power factor (PF), total active power, reactive power, and KWH consumption. All measured values and data calculations are updated every two seconds. Beyond these core measurements, the module can detect overcurrent transients with a configurable threshold. Its support for the Genius communication protocol allows it to be mounted near machinery or processes, enabling the transmission of captured and processed data to the host controller via the Genius Bus. The IC660BPM100 converts analog measurements into digitized waveforms, facilitating simple and straightforward parameter analysis.
This device accepts 3-phase voltage inputs ranging from 0–120VAC (47–63 Hz) and current inputs of 0–5 Amperes (nominal range, 47–63 Hz). It is equipped with built-in status LEDs indicating Unit OK and Communications OK. The GE Fanuc Genius I/O IC660BPM100 power monitor block monitors voltage and current inputs, storing waveform data for each input type. From this stored data, it computes RMS values of current, voltage, reactive power, active power, KWH, and power factor, in addition to measuring line frequency. These calculated values are then transmitted to a connected computer or PLC for further analysis. Compatible with both wye-delta configured 3-phase and single-phase systems, the block accepts current inputs from up to 3 line current transformers and one neutral current transformer, as well as voltage inputs from up to 3 potential transformers.
Configurable via software, the IC660BPM100 boasts a rugged design suitable for installation in electrical process and distribution equipment. It supports dual power input options: 125V DC or 115–230V AC. The module can be installed at distances of up to 7500 feet from its host computer and is also suitable for standalone applications.
Key electrical specifications include: 300V peak overvoltage and transient voltage rating for voltage inputs, with a per-input burden of less than 0.1 VA; current inputs can withstand 50 Amps for 5 seconds at 10-minute intervals. Environmental ratings cover an operating temperature range of 32–140°F, a storage temperature range of -40–212°F, and 50–95% relative humidity for both operation and storage. The module also features a vibration rating of 1 G at 10–200 Hz.
