The IC697ACC621 is a rack fan assembly launched by GE Fanuc Automation as an accessory for the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product line. Its primary function is to provide additional cooling to various racks within this series, with a specific focus on protecting the racks’ connections and electronic components. Overheating is a major culprit behind unexpected operational shutdowns and system malfunctions—issues that often result in costly component repairs or replacements. For this reason, the IC697ACC621 is specifically designed for installation on racks operating in poorly ventilated environments prone to overheating.

Electrically, the IC697ACC621 operates at 120 Volts AC, with each of its two integrated fans consuming 15 to 20 Watts at this voltage. It features a locked rotor current range of 0.24 to 0.34 Amps and has a lightweight design, weighing just 4 pounds. This fan assembly is compatible with two rack types: the 9-slot RX7i racks and the 5-slot Series 90-70 racks.

In terms of construction and performance, the IC697ACC621 comes equipped with a polyurethane foam filter (rated at 30 pores per square inch) and a plastic retainer/guard that meets UL94V-0 standards. It operates with low noise levels and incorporates ball bearings, which contribute to an extended operational lifespan. The assembly functions reliably within a temperature range of -28 to 70 degrees Celsius. To prevent filter clogging and ensure optimal performance, GE Fanuc recommends installing the IC697ACC621 in a clean environment.
